[edit] Manifest (Passenger Information List) Codes
Manifest codes are the codes that American Airlines uses on the passenger manifest for each flight, also called the Passenger Information List (PIL).

The format of the passenger manifest is as follows:
- Enumeration of passenger
- Passenger last name
- Passenger first name
- Group code (unrelated to boarding groups)
- Fare class code
- Destination airport code
- Seat number
- "F" or "E" - unknown purpose
- Number of bags
- Additional codes

A manifest might look something like this:

[edit] Group Code
Group codes consist of two letters and a trailing digit and are used to designate parties traveling together. The first two letters differentiate one party from another. The trailing digit indicates the number of people in the party. Letter assignments are completely random, but unique to each flight. Note that these codes are unrelated to boarding groups used at the gate (i.e. Groups 1-6).

- AD - AAdvantage member, no elite status
- ADM - Admirals Club member
- AG - AAdvantage Gold
- AP - AAirpass passenger
- CLUB - Club Access
- EP - AAdvantage Executive Platinum
- KEY - ConciergeKey Member
- PL - AAdvantage Platinum
- VIP - Very Important Passenger

- xxEM - Emerald, Exec Plat Equivalent
- xxSP - Sapphire, Platinum Equivalent
- xxRB - Ruby, Gold Equivalent

- ADC - Companion upgrade requested
- BLND - Passenger is visually impaired
- BP - Boarding Pass issued
- BT - Bag Tag issued
- CELEB - Celebrity Pet
- CHD - Child, 2-11 years old
- CL - Displays all Cleared Passengers, but not manner they were cleared
- CLE - Baggage cleared
- CM - Comment Message for a passenger (with text)
- DEAF - Passenger is hearing impaired
- DEPA - Deportee (accompanied)
- DEPU - Deportee (unaccompanied)
- DOCV - Documents Verified (passport and/or visa for international travel)
- DSR - Passenger ticketed in First Class, confirmed in the main cabin and desires to travel in ticketed cabin
- EIB - “EDIFACT Inbound” connecting from another carrier
- EOB - “EDIFACT Outbound” connecting to another carrier
- ET - Electronic ticket
- HAND - In handcuffs
- IB - Inbound connection (AA flight)
- INAD - Inadmissible (Returnee) Deportee
- INF - Passenger is Traveling with a lap Infant
- LANG - Language “speaks ________ language only”
- LF - Lifted; indicates that a ticket or electronic ticket has been scanned, or “lifted”, upon boarding the aircraft
- MAAS - Meet and Assist, passenger has requested assistance
- MEDA - Medical Clearance Required
- OB - Outbound connection (AA flight)
- ON - Passenger onboard
- ONE - Unknown
- OS - Oversale
- OXYG - Oxygen Required CONT = continuous use
- PCTC - Personal Contact Information
- PETC - Pet in the Cabin
- PR - Pre-reserved Seat
- PSPT - Passport Information Added
- RCK - Remote check-in
- SC - Security checked; this code is a remnant of the days when passengers were asked "security questions" prior to receiving a boarding pass
- TWOV - Transiting without a Visa
- UADT - Unaccompanied Adult with mental disability
- UMNR - Unaccompanied minor
- WCHR - Wheelchair/can walk up stairs
- WCHS - Wheelchair/can walk to seat/needs aisle chair
- WCHC - Wheelchair/needs aisle chair for stairs and to/from seat
