[edit] Denver International Airport (DEN)

DEN is a UA hub.

[edit] General Information

Denver International Airport (DIA, but airport code is DEN) is 15 miles northeast of the city. You will need a rental car, bus, or taxi/limo arrangements to get downtown. The airport is laid out very logically but is large, so budget time to get through the airport. Regular flyers through Denver can get from plane to Baggage Claim in around 15 minutes, luggage generally doesn't show up until at least 20 - 25 minutes after a flight has landed.

Other trivia - When returning to Denver, and you're coming up the escalators into the main terminal, you can quickly identify which side is east and west by looking at the flags on the Elevator pillars. The side with the Colorado state flag is the west side, and the side with the US flag is the east side. They have added other signage in the last year, but this is the method I always use.

Premium check-in/ticketing is on the North side of the West Terminal. Concourses are numbered A thru C, with the A concourse accessible via the general security gates on the 5th level of the terminal, or thru a separate security checkpoint on the north side 6th level.

[edit] Check-in

UA check-in is located in Terminal West.

[edit] Flights

All UA and UX flights leave out of Concourse B, with LH, AC, and CO flights in Concourse A. UX flights always leave out of the high numbered B gates, starting around gate 50, with many using a ground-level concourse extension built in 2007.

When connecting, keep in mind that Concourse B is about 2/3 of a mile long. There are moving sidewalks almost the entire length, but budget at least 10-15 minutes for a fast walk down its length.

[edit] Red Carpet Club

There are two identical RCCs, one located on either side of Concourse B near the center atrium.

[edit] Easy Check-in

  • DEN has Easy Check-ins landside in the ticketing area.
  • There are also Easy Check-ins airside on either side of Concourse B.
